An Artist's Quest

Slow down you move too fast

Well, I have a confession to make, I stomp snails.  There I’ve said it.  I am generally pretty much a live and let live kind of gal but when it comes to snails I have a zero tolerance policy — see, squish, move on.  But this morning, Monday morning, after a Sunday rain the snails were out.  And this morning I stopped before I stomped.  I got down on my knees to take a closer look, and I have to say a snail is a beautiful thing!  This snail is calling out to be a mandala challenge.  What do we have to learn from Heliz Aspersa? (I thought maybe using it’s scientific name would help me look at it differently, pretty don’t ya think?)  The tough exterior and soft interior, the spiral shell (the spiral theme keeps popping up), the slow pace, even the wandering silver trail are making metaphorical music in my mind.  So check in on Friday to see where this goes and please post your thoughts, stories, revelations, let’s have a conversation!

PS> I threw this snail over the fence.
